Letters to Papa Falloon
Here are a selection of letters that we have received over the years, many thanks to all those of you that have taken time to write to us.

11 July 2005

"Dear Papa and the Band

You played at my party on Saturday night and made the evening truly magical!  You were absolutely fabulous, brilliant musicians and excellent entertainment.  Everyone loved the music and the personal touch that you gave it.  I had a wonderful evening and can't wait for an excuse to do it all over again - I don't want to wait until I'm 50!"

22 June 2005

"I just thought I would jot you a quick line to say a huge thanks for a wonderful party on Saturday.  Everyone was raving about the band and you really made the evening..............."

And from the USA - 7 April 2005

"Thanks! The CD is fabulous - I just got it today and have played it several times already.  You sound like a great band to see in person, sounds like you really get the crowd going.

I like all the songs, arrangements, the singing, the harmonies, well everything.  "Wild Mountain Thyme" is still the song I like the best but "Let Your Light Shine" and "The Mingulay Boat Song" are right up there.  I've heard "The Irish Washer Woman" many tmies before but never with a little Laurel and Hardy thrown in .... ".....I just wanted to express how important you were to the success of our wedding.  Our whole day was a dream from beginning to end - it was the culmination of so much hard work by so many people and you topped our day off wonderfully.  Everyone, young and old, enjoyed your musical talents and the joy with which you all play.....  It must be such a joy to know that by doing something you love you bring so much happiness to others.  Thank you."

28th June 2001

"So many, many thanks for making our silver wedding anniversary the best affair we have ever been to!! The fact that you let Sam, our daughter, sing with the band was so kind of you...it made it for us.

You play the best asortment of styles with such conviction and joy, I wish you could have stayed all night!!

I'm sure we shall see you regularly at parties around here!  Bless you"

9th March 2001

" How very kind of you to donate your 'Evening with Papa Falloon and the Falloons' to raise money for our Save School for Parents Appeal.

The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, in the word of one parent 'It was like a big party, very friendly and everyone joining in' and it raised in excess of £2,000! So congratulations and thankyou very much indeed.

The Appeal Fund has now reached £40,000 through local fundraising and with monies promised, although not yet banked, from various trusts, we are hopeful that our service will be able to continue beyond the 31st March.

We are all most grateful for your generosity and support."

10th August 2000.

" I apologise for not having been able to write to you sooner to say a huge thank you to Falloons for coming along to Cowdray Park recently and helping towards making our Wild West Party such a success.

The whole thing went extremely smoothly and judging from the absolute deluge of letters I have since received, everyone seemed greatly to enjoy themselves.

I do hope we will be able to find another excuse to invite you along to play for us again before too long."

6th July1999.

".... We returned from a really restful honeymoon to a deluge of cards from people thanking us for arranging such a good party. At least every other letter went on about what a brilliant multi-talented band you were - no-one else had been to a wedding where the band got three encores!

Anyway, thanks again. We will of course pass the word around to anyone else looking for a band who can play just about anything and make an evening go with a swing....and a jig... and a jive... and a rock... and a twist and a ..."
